Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Washcleanse.world uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on washcleanse.world.
We comply with:
- GDPR and the Dutch UAVG (personal data processed via cookies);
- Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet), which requires prior consent for storing or accessing non-essential cookies and similar technologies on your device, unless an exception applies;
- Guidance from the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) and, where relevant, the former “cookie rules” practice under Dutch telecom law.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device. Local storage (e.g. in your browser) can store similar information. Together we refer to these as “cookies” where the rules apply to both.
We use:
- First-party storage set by our site (e.g. consent preferences);
- Third-party cookies only if you consent to analytics or marketing categories and such tools are active.

3. Cookie categories
3.1 Strictly necessary (always active)
These are required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choice. They do not require consent under Article 11.7a Telecommunicatiewet because they are strictly necessary for a service you request.
| Name / technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pvg_cookie_consent (cookie) | Stores your cookie preferences (accept/reject/analytics/marketing) | Up to 12 months |
| Session / security cookies (hosting) | Basic delivery, load balancing, security where applicable | Session or short-term |
3.2 Analytics (optional — consent required)
Only placed if you click Accept all or enable Analytics in Cookie settings. Helps us understand aggregated visit statistics. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
If we enable tools such as Google Analytics, we configure privacy-friendly settings where possible (e.g. IP anonymisation) and list specific cookie names in an update to this table before activation.
3.3 Marketing (optional — consent required)
Only placed if you consent. May include remarketing or conversion measurement. Legal basis: consent. We do not load marketing cookies if you click Reject or leave Marketing off in settings.
4. How we obtain and withdraw consent
On your first visit (and until a choice is stored), a banner explains our use of cookies and offers:
- Accept all — necessary + analytics + marketing;
- Reject — necessary only;
- Cookie settings — granular toggles; strictly necessary cannot be switched off.
Under Dutch and EU practice, rejecting must be as easy as accepting. You may withdraw consent at any time by:
- Opening Cookie settings again and saving new choices;
- Deleting cookies/local storage for this site in your browser; or
- Contacting us to reset your stored preference.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
5. Third-party content
Embedded Google Maps on our contact page may set cookies or process data when loaded. We recommend loading the map only when you need directions. Google acts as a separate controller; see Google’s privacy policy. Optional analytics/marketing tools, if used, are listed in Section 3 and only run after consent.
6. Browser settings
You can block or delete cookies via your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.). Blocking all cookies may affect site functions (e.g. consent banner may reappear). Help pages: your browser’s “privacy” or “cookies” settings.
7. Retention summary
- Consent record (
pvg_cookie_consent): up to 12 months. - Session cookies: until you close the browser.
- Analytics/marketing: per provider, typically 6–24 months if enabled, until consent is withdrawn.
8. Your rights and complaints
Data collected via cookies may constitute personal data. You have rights under the GDPR (access, erasure, etc.) — see our Privacy Policy.
Complaints about cookies and privacy: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. Questions about telecom rules may also be directed to the Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM) for certain market practices.
9. Changes
We update this policy when our tools or legal requirements change. Check the date above. Material changes will be described on this page.
